7 July 2009 Insignia BiTurbo raises the bar as Vauxhall announces updates for MY10

• Up to 1,500rpm a smaller, high-pressure turbocharger compresses the intake air at up to 3.2 bar boost pressure. Above this level it's joined by a larger lower-pressure turbocharger, optimising economy and performance
• The unit employs super-efficient third generation common rail induction technology, with 2,000 bar induction pressure for maximum efficiency. Sensors within the cylinders measure the optimum combustion conditions in real time, allowing the engine control unit (ECU) to instantly fine-tune the fuel delivery. This creates a closed loop system that reduces emissions and noise to the absolute minimum while boosting efficiency
• The system also monitors fuel quality and other combustion factors, thereby maximising power and emissions over the complete life span of the engine; this compensates for wear and tear and helps prolong engine life
• The manual transmission has been optimised to deliver the best in fuel efficiency allied to maximum driving satisfaction
• The result of these technological advances is an extremely smooth, Euro 5-compliant power unit that matches the power delivery of current 6-cylinder units while achieving extra economy by reducing weight and increasing efficiency under all driving loads and conditions
• All Insignia 2.0CDTi 16v BiTurbo (190PS) models feature FlexRide as part of their standard specification; models fitted with Adaptive 4x4 also employ an Electronic Limited Slip Differential
• Sales of Insignia BiTurbo manual front-wheel drive models commence late August 2009 with production commencing October 2009; automatic variants will follow during 2010
• 2.0CDTi 16v BiTurbo (190PS) models will be priced at £1,650.00 (inc. VAT) above their 2.0CDTi 16v (160PS) equivalents; the 4x4 version will be priced at £1,500.00 above the equivalent front-wheel drive 2.0CDTi 16v BiTurbo (190PS) model
• CO2 emission figures will be announced closer to launch

• SE 4x4 models are no longer available
• An electric parking brake is now standard on all Insignia models
• SRi models can now be specified with optional 19-inch alloy wheels and 245/40 R19 tyres; the price is £500.00 (inc. VAT)
• Black Sapphire and Silver Lightning exterior colours are replaced by Carbon Flash and Silver Lake, as an extra-cost option. An additional colour, Waterworld Blue, is also introduced as an extra-cost option. The new colours can be seen on our New Car Colours 2010 Models Edition 1 card (see below)
• Mobile Phone System with Bluetooth® is enhanced with the introduction of the base plate system on CD 300 or CDC 400/DVD 800 units fitted with Bluetooth®. The base plate is compatible with our range of optional mobile phone cradles, listed in the rear section of our current Car and Accessory Price Guide. The option price is £175.00 (inc. VAT)
• Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB) can now be specified in association with our DVD 800 satellite navigation/CD player with MP3 format/stereo radio. The option price is £150.00 (inc. VAT)
• Standard on SE and Elite models for Model Year 2010, the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System is also available on Exclusiv and SRi as a factory-fitted option. The option price is £100.00 (inc. VAT)
• Stainless steel rear bumper protector is now standard on Exclusiv, SE, Elite and SRi models and optional on S versions, priced £50.00 (inc. VAT)
• The price of 4x4 versions of our SRi and Elite models is increased by £1,500.00 above their front-wheel drive equivalents
• Front Camera System is not available to UK customers
• Sports Tourer models no longer feature fin-style detailing on the rear screen
• Silver-finish roof rails (Sports Tourer models) no longer feature black foil detailing
• SRi, SE and Elite models fitted with 1.8i 16v and 2.0CDTi 16v (130 and 160PS) power units no longer feature visible exhaust pipes
• Only SRi models fitted with 2.0i 16v Turbo and 2.0CDTi 16v BiTurbo (190PS) power units now feature aluminium pedals
• Insignia S models are now fitted with 2-way non-active safety front seat head restraints; these replace the previous 4-way active safety versions
• The rear interior door handles on SRi models now feature a black finish, replacing the previous chrome finish

• New two-coat metallic exterior colour Meteorite Grey is added as an extra-cost option on Club and Design models fitted with Graphic Charcoal or Graphic Atlanta Blue interior trim

• There are no changes to Corsa for Model Year 2010

• Meriva VXR is discontinued

• New exterior colour Oriental Blue (extra-cost option) is introduced on Sport Hatch models
• For MY10 we have also taken the opportunity to rationalise the Astra model line-up, simplifying driver choice and concentrating on the most popular models. The models no longer available are:

• New Black and White Special Pack introduced on Sport and Design models. This consists of Olympic White body colour, Solid Black roof and Solid Black mirror housings. This is an exciting new colour combination aimed at those customers who are looking for something just a little bit different from their TwinTop model
• Two new exterior colours - Olympic White and Oriental Blue introduced on Sport and Design models
• For MY10 we have also taken the opportunity to rationalise the Astra TwinTop model line-up, simplifying driver choice and concentrating on the most popular models. The models no longer available are:

• New 115PS 1.6i 16v VVT engine introduced, complete with new wide-ratio transmission
• This replaces the previous 105PS 1.6i 16v unit. The new engine delivers a 10PS power increase and produces only 159g/km of CO2 - a massive improvement over the previous unit's 172g/km
• The new engine qualifies for VED Band G (£150) - offering a £25.00 saving over the old unit. It also falls into the 19% band for BiK tax, which is again 3% less than the previous engine.^*1 Zafira models fitted with the new unit attract a List Price premium of just £100.00 over 105PS models
  
  Fuel consumption figures are as follows: mpg (litres/100km): Urban 31.7 (8.9), Extra Urban 52.3 (5.4), Combined 42.2 (6.7), CO2 159g/km
• For MY10 we have also taken the opportunity to rationalise the Zafira model line-up, simplifying driver choice and concentrating on the most popular models. The models no longer available are:

• The all-new Exclusiv trim provides a generous level of specification allied to an extremely competitive entry price of just £21,495.00 OTR (inc. VAT).^*2 That's just £765.00 more than the previous lead-in E model and a full £725.00 less than the S model
• SE remains the range-topping model with high quality trim, premium finish and generous equipment levels; however the List Price of this model has been significantly reduced
• All MY10 Antara models come with the 2.0CDTi 16v 150PS engine, with a choice of manual or automatic transmission
• MY10 Antara models also benefit from an all-new choice of exterior colours

• There are no changes to Corsavan for Model Year 2010

• Optional seven-spoke alloy wheels are no longer available on Sportive models

• Unglazed twin opening rear doors are now standard equipment on Combo models. This feature - previously optional at extra cost - was the most popular rear door choice among Combo operators and its inclusion as standard brings Combo in line with both our Vivaro and Movano Panel Vans
• A new option of glazed rear doors without heated window and wash/wipe is introduced, priced at £50.00 (exc. VAT). Please note: Function Pack A remains unchanged and features glazed rear doors with heated window and intermittent rear wash/wipe

• Exterior colour Sage is now available on Sportive models
• The price of optional glazed rear doors is increased to £75.00 (exc. VAT)

• There are no changes to Movano for Model Year 2010
