We are delighted to announce that order banks are now officially open for the new Insignia Sports Tourer ecoFLEX. The addition of Insignia Sports Tourer to our growing ecoFLEX family brings the number of variants in this award-winning portfolio to an impressive 64 models across a diverse range of product lines. What's more, Vauxhall is now one of the very few manufacturers to offer such an eco-friendly vehicle in a large, estate car format. .

No compromise for drivers

The new Insignia Sports Tourer ecoFLEX models deliver outstanding economy without compromise, combining award-winning premium styling and innovative technology with powerful performance and the highest possible engine efficiency.

Drivers will be pleased to note that Insignia ecoFLEX accelerates from 0-60mph in just 10.9 seconds, reaches a top speed of over 130mph and boasts maximum torque of 350Nm from a lowly 1750rpm, temporarily increased to 380Nm via an 'overboost' function.

More good news is that drivers get to select from a wide choice of specifications, as the ecoFLEX engine is available in the following, feature-packed trim levels:

Powerful and tax-efficient

Producing 160PS @ 4000rpm, the car's new 2.0CDTi 16v ecoFLEX turbo diesel engine fits within the 18% banding for Benefit-in-Kind tax, saving your drivers money while reducing their impact on the environment.

The following table illustrates the savings available relative to rival models:

Better still, company car drivers choosing it over our standard 2.0CDTi 16v (160PS) diesel model can save between £150 and nearly £400 on their annual tax bill.2 Vehicle Excise Duty is also highly competitive, currently falling into Band E, at £120 per annum.

Thanks to a comprehensive package of modifications, the new car boasts outstanding fuel economy, as the following figures demonstrate:

Insignia 2.0CDTi 16v BiTurbo

Further to our e-bulletin dated 7 July 2009, please be advised that production of our Insignia BiTurbo model has now been delayed until 2010. Order banks are therefore closed. We will inform you as soon as we have a confirmed date for start of sales and production.

Further underlining Vauxhall's commitment to sustainable forms of transport, our revolutionary new Ampera Extended Range Electric Vehicle (E-REV) has just been named the inaugural winner of a prestigious new green motoring award.

The Green Technology Award, presented by the leading publication What Car?, recognised the Ampera's innovative and practical approach to green motoring, as well as its ability to overcome the range drawbacks suffered by users of conventional electric cars.

Due for production in 2011 and on sale early 2012, the electrifying Ampera will be the first-ever electrically driven car capable of everyday zero emission driving. Thanks to GM's groundbreaking electric propulsion technology, Voltec, it operates differently from other advanced propulsion systems.

The Ampera's wheels are turned electrically at all times and all speeds. For short trips up to 60km, the Ampera runs only on lithium-ion battery power, charged by a standard 240v outlet. For longer distances, Ampera's on-board range-extending engine can generate additional electricity to power the car for more than 310 miles.

With more than 70% of European car journeys estimated to be shorter than Ampera's electric-only capability, the majority of drivers will be able to use the sophisticated four-seater with zero exhaust emissions and no consumption of petrol. At the same time, they will have the peace of mind of knowing that it's capable of undertaking longer journeys without recharging.
