| As promised in our earlier mailings, we are also pleased to share with you the following Fleet Decision Maker information alongside electronic copies of our all-new Astra Range Highlights brochure and Price Guide, both of which can be downloaded by clicking on the links provided. |
| |
| What Car? magazine captured our excitement and enthusiasm for this brilliant new model in just a couple of well-turned phrases: |
| |
 |
Vauxhall has stolen a march on Ford & VW with a stunner that also makes sense... placed next to blandly styled Euro boxes such as Ford Focus & VW Golf, the new Astra is an absolute work of art... we'd put money on it being a sure fire hit when it arrives in UK dealerships in December. |
|
| |
The choice is simple |
| |
| With prices starting at just £15,675*1 on-the-road RRP (Exclusiv 1.4i 16v VVT (87PS) models), the Ellesmere Port built all-new Astra is already capturing the imagination of the nation's motoring writers. Autocar, for one, felt it "offers serious competition to the best in class". Competitive P11D values, strong performance, low emissions and commendable economy all help put the car at the head of the pack, as the Price Guide demonstrates. |
| |
|
|
| |
| Furthermore, as our Range Highlights brochure makes clear, the new range combines superb cost efficiency with high equipment levels across the five-model line-up. In particular, we have taken the opportunity to rationalise and realign our trim levels, ensuring there is a model to suit every company driver. |
| |
|
|
| |
| Fleet Decision Makers should note the key changes to the line-up, designed to make choice list placements a whole lot simpler: |
| |
S (was Life)
Exclusiv (was Club)
SE (was Design)
Elite
SRi
|
| |
| The S model is a new entry level trim (replacing Life) in terms of specification, while our new Exclusiv model (replacing Club) is the next level up, but with a lower on-the-road price than the S, so as to benefit company car drivers and Fleet Decision Makers with lower tax bills*2. The SE trim - previously Design - builds on Exclusiv, followed by the top-of-the-range Elite model. The SRi trim provides a sporty side to all-new Astra, adding specification to the Exclusiv level. Completing our rationalisation of the line-up, our previous SXi model has henceforth been deleted, creating a simple hierarchy of just five, distinct models. |

| |
Class-leading engine line-up |
| |
| All-new Astra boasts a nine-engine range that expects to cut combined CO2 emissions and fuel consumption by an average of 10% over most of the current line-up. As you would expect, all units meet the strictest Euro 5 emissions standards. |
| |
Diesel Engines |
| |
| Spearheading Vauxhall's all-new Astra diesel assault from launch is a powerful, Euro 5 compliant 2.0 litre common rail turbo diesel unit. The rest of the range comprises a brace of 1.7-litre CDTi 16v units. All of the diesels produce CO2 emissions of no more than 129g/km (with manual transmission) yet their power outputs range from 95PS to 160PS, delivering generous performance combined with maximum fuel efficiency. |
| |
Petrol Engines |
| |
| A brand new 1.4-litre VVT turbo engine joins the range from launch, producing 140PS and 200Nm of torque between 1,850 and 4,900rpm. This unit replaces the 1.8-litre engine from the current Astra range, yet features lower emissions, equal power output and 15% more torque. Completing the petrol line-up for all-new Astra are two 1.4-litre VVT units, producing 87PS and 100PS respectively and emitting just 129g/km of CO2. This puts them in the low, 15% banding for Benefit-in-Kind tax. There are also two 1.6-litre VVT engines: one turbocharged, producing 180PS and the other naturally aspirated with 115PS on tap. |
| |
| Each of the all-new Astra powerplants comes equipped with a six-speed gearbox, with the exception of 1.4 and 1.6-litre models and the forthcoming 1.3-litre CDTi which employ a five-speed manual gearbox. A new, compact automatic transmission will also be available. |
| |
ecoFLEX |
| |
| If all that wasn't enough, we are also pleased to confirm that an all-new Astra ecoFLEX diesel variant - boasting CO2 emissions of just 109g/km - will be available shortly after launch. This means that not only will all-new Astra ecoFLEX fall within the lowest 13% diesel band for Benefit-in-Kind tax - with CO2 emissions below 110g/km - it will also qualify for a full 100% Writing Down Allowance. |

Innovative features*3 |
| |
| Designed to make life safer, more comfortable and more exciting for your drivers, all-new Astra's long list of innovations include: |
| |
FlexRide |
| |
| The FlexRide system employs Sport and Tour switches which present the all-new Astra driver with three distinct driving modes and the ability to change the chassis' character at the touch of a button. |
| |
Audio, communication and navigation |
| |
| Audio equipment options for all-new Astra cover the full spectrum from CD players with MP3 format/stereo radio and six-disc CD autochanger/stereo radios with DAB/MP3 capability, to CD-based satellite navigation units with seven-inch colour screens. |
| |
Advanced Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL) |
| |
| Controlled by speed, steering input and sophisticated electronics, all-new Astra's third generation AFL system automatically selects from nine different functions to suit prevailing road profiles and driving conditions. |
| |
Electronic Climate Control (ECC) with diffused ventilation |
| |
| Air quality and individual comfort is a key feature of all-new Astra's interior design. Regulated by multi-zone sun sensing, the ECC system boasts quieter operation and a greater degree of control, including an individual memory function for the driver. |
| |
Electric Parking Brake with Hill Start Assist |
| |
| Another innovation on the all-new Astra is the electric parking brake. Touch-operated, it offers both increased parking security and reduced effort on the part of the driver, as well as freeing-up additional storage space inside the car. |
| |
FlexFix® flexible integrated carrier system |
| |
| First seen on Corsa, the revolutionary FlexFix® system allows bikes to be carried without the need for a separate roof carrier system or tow-bar mounted carrier. |
