We are pleased to advise you of important changes to the wheel and tyre specification on all new Insignia hatchback, saloon and Sports Tourer models. This move is made to reduce whole life operating costs for all new Insignia buyers.

Effective immediately on all new orders submitted from today, new Insignia SE, SE Nav, SRi and SRi Nav models are now available with a 17-inch alloy wheel as standard.

The new Insignia brochure and the Vauxhall Car and Accessory Price Guide, effective 1 December, will be updated to show the 17-inch alloy wheel as standard equipment, with an 18-inch alloy wheel upgrade available at no extra cost.

Specific details are as follows:

SRi, SRi Nav, SE and SE Nav trim levels will now receive
17-inch seven-spoke alloy wheels with 225/55 R 17 tyres as standard (as illustrated below)

7-spoke alloy wheels

18-inch 5-twinspoke alloy wheel with 245/45 R 18 tyres has now been introduced as a no-cost option on SRi and SRi Nav trims (as illustrated below)

We would also like to take this opportunity to advise you of additional product changes on all new Insignia models, which are not reflected in the forthcoming new Insignia brochure.

Electronic Limited Slip Differential (eLSD) availability on 4X4 models

We are pleased to announce that eLSD will now be fitted as standard to all models fitted with standard or optional Adaptive 4X4. By sensing which rear wheel has the most grip, eLSD can transfer more torque to the wheel most able to utilise it, offering even more benefits to the enthusiastic driver. The result? Maximum traction for smooth, strong acceleration, outstanding driving dynamics and more stability in cornering.

Power Tailgate on Insignia Sports Tourer SE and Elite trim levels

Please note that the power tailgate is not currently available on the SE and Elite trims on the Insignia Sports Tourer. We expect this feature, which allows powered remote control opening of the tailgate, to now be available for Model Year 2010. As per the S, Exclusiv and SRi trims, the system will now be manually operated on SE and Elite models. Please be assured that we will inform you as and when this situation changes.

Sports Tourer S trim - Wheel update

Please be advised that the Insignia Sports Tourer S trim with the 2.0CDTi 16v (130PS) engine will now be fitted with 17-inch Structure wheels with 225/55 R 17 tyres as standard (see image below). This replaces the standard 16-inch steel wheels with flush cover and 215/60 R 16 tyres previously communicated
