Revised GM pricing reflects VED changes effective 1 May 2009

29 April 2009

Vehicle Excise Duty - 2009/2010

As outlined in the 2008 Budget Report, with effect from 1 May 2009 the Vehicle Excise Duty for Passenger Cars will be reformed to include six new bands. Also with effect 1 May 2009, the VED rate for Commercial Vehicles will rise by £5. The on-the-road prices of Cadillac, Saab, Hummer, Vauxhall Passenger Cars, Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles and Chevrolet models have therefore been adjusted to reflect these changes in VED. Please note that list prices remain the same.*1

Benefit-in-Kind Company Car Tax
The 2008 Budget announced that with effect from 5 April 2010, the lower threshold for the 15% BiK band will be lowered from 135g/km to 130g/km of CO2. The 2009 Budget further announced that this basic threshold will be reduced by a further 5g/km of CO2.
These changes mean that, the 15% band (18% for diesel) will be for vehicles emitting 121 to 134g/km for 2010/11 and for 2011/12 will be for vehicles emitting 121 to 129g/km of CO2.
Please note that there are no changes to Benefit-in-Kind taxation for the 2009/10 tax year.
