All New Astra 5-door hatchback ecoFLEX models launched offering CO2 emissions of only 109g/km

We are pleased to announce that order banks are now officially open for the all-new Astra hatchback 1.3CDTi 16v (95PS) ecoFLEX models with start of regular production beginning April 2010.

All-new Astra ecoFLEX has ultra-low CO2 emissions of only 109g/km making the model sound financial sense for businesses. Additionally, the new ecoFLEX engine will be offered for the first time on the SRi trim enabling drivers to choose the dynamic sporty styling they want, but with a lot less personal taxation. We are also delighted to confirm that the on-the-road pricing for the 1.3CDTi 16v (95PS) ecoFLEX is £480 less than the 1.7CDTi 16v (110PS) models.

Tax and cost-efficient

Each all-new Astra ecoFLEX model provides significant Whole Life Cost, VED and Benefit-in-Kind tax savings as well as great drivability and improved fuel consumption. The facts are as follows:*1

Writing Down Allowance

With CO2 emissions below the 110g/km threshold, all-new Astra ecoFLEX will be eligible for 100% First Year Writing Down Allowance potentially generating significant cash flow savings to businesses. 

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) savings

For the 2009/10 tax year, VED on the all-new Astra ecoFLEX will be just £35 per annum. Looking further ahead to the 2010/11 tax year, the great news is that all-new Astra ecoFLEX will be eligible for the new first year zero VED rate and the new £20 standard rate thereafter.

Benefit-in-Kind tax savings*2

These new low emission models fall in the lowest diesel BiK tax band of 13%. As a result, drivers of the P11D friendly Exclusiv model will be pleased to see a beneficial effect on their tax position. Fact is, a 20% tax payer driving this sensational new model will face a BiK liability of just £38 per month!

Proving efficiency can go hand-in-hand with performance, the new 95PS common rail turbo diesel engine generates fuel savings in excess of £720 over a four-year/80,0000 mile life cycle when compared to the standard 110PS 1.7CDTi 16v powertrain.
